Thanksgiving Poem

neither happy
nor fat bones
are waiting the dark
minced dry as the wish
broken tables like flowers
remember the one who
is not more food for ghosts
will starve without the living to serve

i am making the choice to read "broken tables like flowers" as expressing the attraction of the tables for their(?) flowers.

congrats on the hard work, jim.

Glad you are making a choice. This reading sounds to me as good as any. it's all up to you.

it's all up to me - the reading you mean? i wonder if we as writers can really do that in practice? even cage wanted the audiecne to know his intentions...

(maybe, in this century, not a good place to say "even cage" - lately been worrying i've "lost touch". hey, i'm 30 now).

its like a dance, or its like its dance.
